01 Oct Are You Fighting with Your Ex… About Where the Kids will Live?
Fighting over the children is the most difficult situation that a parent can be a part of. They are your kids right so you will do anything for them to be happy BUT sometimes we aren’t really seeing the bigger picture and we end up treating our kids as a piece of furniture rather than little humans.
1. Having a dig about your ex in front of the kids?
2. Making your kids feel sorry for you?
3. Making it difficult for your ex to see the kids when they want to?
4. Thinking of splitting up the children?
(one to live with you and the other with your ex)
5. Involving the kids in your dispute by talking to them about it?
If you said “YES” to some of the above then don’t beat yourself up about it. It happens to the best of us. It’s called being in an emotional state after your relationship has ended…you may still be grieving the loss of your relationship and family as you know it. We do some funny things when we are feeling emotional.
The most important thing is that you have recognised your behaviour and that it isn’t exactly the best way to be right now for your kids. So the next step is to work out what is in your children’s best interests.
If you, a family member or friend need advice on making the BEST possible plan with the least pain points for the children involved contact us today.
